When you grow mushrooms yourself, you begin to understand just how much care goes into producing a quality product.

At Misty Haven Botanicals, quality isn’t something we discovered in a marketing brochure. It’s something we’ve learned through experience.

We’ve spent years growing and working with adaptogenic and functional mushrooms, developing our growing methods and learning how factors such as environment, genetics, growing conditions and process can influence the final product.

Like many growers, we’ve also experienced the challenges that come with sourcing consistent, high-quality raw materials. Even when products look similar on paper, the difference in quality can be significant.

That experience has taught us what to look for — and just as importantly, what we’re not prepared to compromise on.

We Chase Quality, Wherever We Find It

We believe great mushrooms start with great growing practices.
We look for products that are certified organic, pure, carefully produced and made from quality mushroom material. We understand the time, care and commitment required to grow and produce mushrooms to a high standard, which is why consistency matters so much to us.

As a small producer ourselves, we’ve found that quality can vary significantly between suppliers — including locally. While we’re proud to work with Australian suppliers and Australia remains an important part of our sourcing, we don’t believe quality should be judged by geography alone.

Our focus is simple:
Find the best product we can, from suppliers we trust.

Looking Beyond One Source

Our primary supply relationships remain in Australia, but we’ve chosen not to limit ourselves to a single supplier, region or country.

Through ongoing sourcing and independent product assessment, we’ve found exceptional products both locally and internationally. In some cases, products and laboratory results from overseas suppliers have exceeded those available from Australian sources — something that isn’t always reflected in the marketing of companies that promote Australian sourced as an automatic guarantee of superior quality.

For us, Australian sourced is important — but quality, consistency and transparency are more important.

This gives us the flexibility to work with trusted suppliers across Australia, Europe, Japan, Asia and the United States, continually assessing our options and selecting products that meet the standards we expect for Misty Haven.

We don’t want to be locked into one or two suppliers simply because it’s easier.

We’d rather keep looking.

Standards That Matter

Every product we choose must meet our expectations for quality, purity and responsible production.

We carefully review relevant supplier documentation, certifications and quality standards, which may include recognised organic certification and manufacturing or food safety standards such as ACO, USDA Organic, GMP, ISO and HACCP, depending on the product and supplier.

Our products are also:

· Vegan friendly, including plant-based capsules
· Selected with a focus on purity and quality
· Sourced from suppliers we carefully assess
· Packaged with recyclable or reusable options wherever possible

We believe the small details matter.

The extra time spent checking a supplier, reviewing documentation, comparing quality or finding a better source might not always be visible on the label — but it matters to us.
